Located in Tuting Circle at an altitude of approximately 13,700 feet, pilgrims perform circumambulation (Kora) around the lake seeking longevity, wisdom and spiritual merit.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama visited Tuting in 2005 and laid the foundation stone for the Buddhist sanctuary. The monastery houses golden statues of Lord Buddha, historic scrolls and Tibetan Buddhist artefacts.
